Instructions
THANK YOU FOR PURCHASING A littleSMOLLTHINGS MUG!
1. I have included brushes, primary colored glazes, white and black glaze, and your mug. You can use the glazes the same way you would use acrylic paint.
2. If you want colors to be brighter, glaze it with three layers, letting it dry in between each layer.
3. Glaze does not dry in the same way as paint. So when you are all done, don’t let your mug get wet, and don’t touch it, because the glaze will come off.
4. If you mess up, you can use a damp sponge, wipe it all down, and start over, even if it has been sitting for days.
4. Because these are underglazes, you CAN glaze the bottom. I have made the bottom wide and flat for that reason.
5. I will be adding a clear glaze on top of your glazed mug so they will be brighter and shiny. Any part that is left unglazed will be shiny and white.
6. When you are all done, put your mug back in the box and cover it. It’s not a good idea for it to get dusty because the dust can cause pinholes.
7. All of the glazes are food safe, so you can decorate the inside as well. Your mug will be microwave and dishwasher.
8. Put everything back in the box when finished and leave it on your front porch on your designated day! I will return your fired mug in a gift bag within 2 days.

If you paint black glaze on the letters (for instance if your mug says "dad", glaze black into the indented letter,) let it dry and wipe off the extra, your letters will show up better. You can glaze the tile on top a different color. You can put some glaze on a plate, dip your finger in, and add fingerprints. You could make a fingerprint heart, flower, rainbow, or just fingerprints all over! You can carefully glaze flowers all over or one big flower in the middle. If you want a softer palette, you can add water to the glaze and use them like watercolor paint. You can add words! Paint your mug all one color or many colors and then use black to glaze words on top. Your glaze colors can be mixed, so if you want a lighter palette, add white. Just remember complementary colors get muddy and brown quickly, so be careful! There is a color wheel above to remind you how to make secondary colors. |
