June 15-17 Ceramics 10-10:45-Preschool, Age 4-5 11-11:45-Kindergarten-Grade1 12:00-12:45-Grade 2-Grade 3 1-1:45-Grade 4-Grade 5 Early ages will be learning about clay, making pinch pots, and playing with different types of clay. Older students will learn to slip and score to put pieces together and create projects. We will be returning to some of my favorites, like bird houses, owls, and other animals. June 22-24 Printmaking,Drawing,Painting 10-10:45-Preschool, Age 4-5 11-11:45-Kindergarten-Grade1 12:00-12:45-Grade 2-Grade 3 1-1:45-Grade 4-Grade 5 This week will be for exploring different types of painting and printmaking with younger students while older students will learn to marble paper and create collographs. June 29-July 1 Make and Take 10-10:45-Preschool, Age 4-5 11-11:45-Kindergarten-Grade1 12:00-12:45-Grade 2-Grade 3 1-1:45-Grade 4-Grade 5 This will be a different project everyday, from magic drawings to 3-d houses. About the Teachers: Tracy Smoll Tracy Smoll was an Art Teacher in public schools (Hose Elementary and Sommer Elementary) for 14 years. During this time, she started her own pottery business, taking workshops to further her ceramic skills. She is currently working on an MFA at Purdue University in Studio Arts with an emphasis in Ceramics. She teaches Ceramics at Purdue and supervises Art Education student teachers. She is eager to teach young students again and loves introducing kids to new art techniques. Sarah Warner Sarah is currently working as a preschool teacher at Wabash Early Childhood Academy. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 2013 and moved to the University of Evansville where she received a Bachelors in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Sarah has spent time working abroad as an au pair in Australia and teaching English in Thailand. She is passionate about helping kids learn and grow. |
