Bunny9/12/2020 Today was emotionally difficult. The pandemic, protests, and now the wildfires. I know that Emma and Kota are safe, but it is one more difficult reality right now. I listened to Morning Edition earlier; they interviewed voters in Minnesota. One of them claimed that they were voting for t. because he (the voter) knows that climate change is not real. He doesn't want restraints on farming. Meanwhile, the wildfires in the west are so bad that even in Seattle where Emma lives, the smoke is effecting her breathing. It is statistically true that there are more natural disasters due to climate change. Straight from USGS: With increasing global surface temperatures the possibility of more droughts and increased intensity of storms will likely occur. As more water vapor is evaporated into the atmosphere it becomes fuel for more powerful storms to develop. More heat in the atmosphere and warmer ocean surface temperatures can lead to increased wind speeds in tropical storms. Rising sea levels expose higher locations not usually subjected to the power of the sea and to the erosive forces of waves and currents. So, today I made a bunny, not a rabbit, not a hare. I made something to comfort me.
